Athletic Therapy with Freya

Movement-based care for active bodies, with a whole-person approach.

Athletic Therapy is a form of rehabilitation that helps you move better, build capacity, and get back to doing the things you love.

While Athletic Therapists often work with athletes, you absolutely do not have to be one to benefit from Athletic Therapy. Whether you're recovering from an injury, dealing with a persistent issue, trying to get back to a sport, or simply want to feel stronger and more capable in your body, treatment is built around you, your body, and your goals.

It's active.
Treatment isn't just about having something done to you. Movement, exercise, and progressive loading are key parts of the process, helping you create lasting change and build confidence in your body.

It's whole-body.
Your knee doesn't exist in isolation from your hip, foot, or the rest of your body. We look beyond the site of pain or injury to understand how everything is working together.

It's about more than "good enough."
The goal isn't simply to get you back to where you were before an injury. We work toward building your strength, capacity, and confidence so that you can do more than you could before.

About Freya:

I’m a queer woman with a long injury history, who loves sports and active rehab, and who wanted to create a practice that filled a healthcare space that I thought was missing; sports specific rehab for queer, trans, nonbinary, and 2SLGTBQIA+ folks who are active or in sport.

I wanted to create a treatment environment where folks can come and authentically be themselves, breathe easy in a place of safety, and get high quality rehab. Because the best rehab doesn't happen when we are on guard, masking, and worried if something harmful will happen. It happens when we feel safe, heard by the practitioner, and like our bodies (and the history that is held within them) are actually finally being seen.

That’s the care you can expect from me: nurturing, thoughtful, progressive and consistently layered, nuanced, and looking at the whole person rather than just the site of injury.

Registered Massage Therapy with Hannah

Thoughtful, individualized bodywork to help you feel more at home in your body.

Massage therapy can be a lot of things. It can help you work through tension and discomfort, support recovery, or simply give you the space to slow down and reconnect with your body.

Hannah's approach brings together therapeutic bodywork with a strong emphasis on relaxation. Every treatment is personalized to what your body needs that day, whether you're dealing with a specific concern or just need an hour to breathe, reset, and come back to yourself.

Each session may incorporate a combination of techniques including:

  • Swedish massage

  • Myofascial release

  • Trigger point therapy

  • Deep tissue massage

  • Hydrotherapy

  • And other soft tissue techniques, depending on what feels appropriate for you

Registered Massage Therapy is a regulated profession in Ontario, and RMT treatments are eligible for coverage under most extended health benefit plans.

About Hannah:

Hannah's approach to massage is grounded in curiosity, respect, and the belief that you know your body best.

Hannah’s work is informed by her experience as a mover, movement educator, and bodyworker, and she brings that perspective into every treatment. Rather than assuming what your body needs, she'll work with you to understand what's going on, what you're hoping to get out of your session, and how you want to feel when you leave.

Hannah also puts a strong emphasis on creating an environment where you can actually relax. Alongside the physical work of massage, her treatments create space for your nervous system to slow down and for you to reconnect with your body.

Come as you are. We'll figure out what your body needs from there.
